About us
Managing director Linda Stephens MBA founded Cobalt Red in 2019 and has fast established a diverse international client base.
As an experienced ICF accredited coach, Linda creates a safe space for clients to work through key issues according to their own agenda. She brings the rigour of a background in both business leadership and pharmacy to her practice, having been a Global Director at GSK and a Clinical Director in the NHS.
Linda is a firm believer in the empowering impact of expert coaching and provides pro bono coaching services for leaders of the future through the African Leadership Academy.
The Stroop Effect
Cobalt Red is named in reference to the Stroop Effect – and is in fact an example of the effect in action. This is the delay in our brain’s reaction time when processing incongruent stimuli compared with congruent stimuli. It highlights the ability of Cobalt Red to help clients see and process issues differently. There is a ‘performance cost’ in the mismatch condition of the Stroop effect in a similar way to potential challenges of leadership where coaching can be beneficial.
